Welcome to the Copper Hen Website

The Copper Hen Restaurant is located on Queen Street, Tramore in county Waterford, the sunny south east of Ireland.

The Copper Hen was opened in November 2010 by award winning chef Eugene Long and his wife Sinead Frisby; the restaurant has since had critical acclaim for its reasonably priced casual dining menu.

Eugene Long is regarded as one of the region’s leading chefs, receiving a Bridgestone Guide Award and ringing endorsements from some of the country’s most respected food critics during his time as chef at ‘Coast’ and subsequently at ‘Banyan’, Tramore.

In the days of ‘Banyan’, the Bridgestone Guide described Eugene’s food as: ‘Delicious, faultless and punching way above its weight’; Georgina Campbell described it as ‘fresh and interesting’; ‘desserts include variations on classics’ and ‘the compact international wine list is reasonably priced’. Irish Independent food critic, Aingeala Flannery, said: ‘Forget cheap and cheerful, what Banyan is about is seriously stylish food’.

The Copper Hen opens Wednesday to Saturday for dinner and Friday to Sunday for lunch.

The Copper Hen provides casual and fun dining using good food, locally sourced, at prices which represent value for money.
